DRAGON Professional Screenshot Gallery

This Gallery shows screen shots of the Dragon Alpha's inbuilt boot screen, diagnostics and BASIC.

The screen shots taken using the MESS emulator using the ROM's from the Dragon Data Archives own Alpha machine. Big thanks to Phill Harvey-Smith for his work in getting the Alpha into the MESS EMU.

Initial Boot screen

All the Alpha screens in a Hi-Res screen mode generating a more pleasing look that the std. text modes. The screens also have a slow scroll effect.

ROM Diagnostics

This test generates a CRC checksum for the boot and BASIC roms.

RS-232 Diagnostics

Performs a TX/RX test at every baud rate. This test always fails, I assume a loopback connector of some kind is required

Sound-Colour Diagnostics

Runs through al the colours in the text screen whilst generating a 'beep' noise through the Alpha's AY sound chip.

Not an original Alpha screen shot but Phill Harvey-Smith's experimental version of DragonDos for the Alpha. That allows the internal floppy disks to be used in DragonDos.
